DEACON MINISTRY
The Deacon Ministry of First Baptist Friendsville is just that, a ministry arm of the Church.
The Deacons are a body of ordained men that minister according to our understanding of the Word of God in several areas:
1. Deacons minister to widows/widowers, this was the original purpose for the first Deacons in the New Testament. Each deacon at FBCF is assigned widows/and/or widowers who are members of the church to minister to them as they have needs.
2. Deacons minister to the Church body by making hospital visits and ministering in
times of bereavement. One or more Deacons are on call each month to assist the Pastor and Staff in these areas. Often times Deacons who are not on call also make visits.
3. Deacons have a missions/outreach ministry in which we visit the lost and Church members who may be in need of a visit for various reasons. We also participate in organized Church visitation programs. The Deacons work with the Pastor and Staff in these areas to promote Church harmony, as also is scriptural for the first Deacons in the New Testament.
4. Benevolence-Deacons are responsible to meet any benevolence needs arising in our Church body and in the Community of Friendsville.
