Hi Folks,

With all we had going on, I have failed to share with you what all is happening this summer on Wednesday nights.  Please see the 3 ages groups below and what is going on with each one.  Join us tonight at 6:30 p.m., you will be glad you did!  (Also, please see below for a note regarding S.S.)

Children – “Shine” – The focus this summer is challenging kids to “shine” for Jesus as they live for Him.  The Lord told all of us to let our light shine so that others would see Jesus in us.  Through a mix of games, lessons and other activities, the kids will learn more of what it means to walk with Christ.

Youth – On Wednesdays, The STORM Youth (6th grade thru High School) meet in the STORM Shelter from 6:30 to 8:00 pm to explore real-world issues that teens deal with and how to apply Biblical teaching and principles to honor Christ is response to these topics.

Adults (Choir Room) – “The Clash of Kingdoms” – Tonight we begin a new study about the life of Paul as he journeyed to the Roman province of Macedonia during his second missionary trip.  During this trip, Paul encountered a variety of cultures that were hostile to the  teaching of the good news about Jesus Christ.  This study offers us insight and hope as we, today, encounter hostile cultures.  Paul would not permit the hostilities of his day to defeat him; and likewise today’s cultures should not defeat us no matter how pervasive and powerful they appear to be.   Paul leaned upon the presence of Christ to proclaim the Gospel.  These lessons encourage us to do likewise.

See you tonight at 6:30 in the choir room!

Regarding Sunday School, can I give a word of exhortation?  While our Sunday morning worship and our Wednesday night classes finally seem to be past most of the effect of the Covid lockdown, Sunday School is lagging behind.  To be honest, I think a lot of that is habit.  But you need to be here for yourself, and to be an encouragement to others.  I realize that we are heading into major vacation time, but let’s be faithful otherwise to participate in this very important time together.

Take care.

Love you folks,

Pastor Bill
