Hi Folks!
It was great to be together yesterday! I thought there was a sweet spirit in our service and we had a pretty good attendance in spite of many being out sick. I saw yesterday that Tennessee is one of about six states that are in the “extreme” category for the flu right now. It has been hitting many in our church family, especially kids, so make sure you remember to pray for these folks.
I just wanted to take a minute to remind you of something. I want to remind you that our hope is not in Washington, in the White House or the Senate or the House or the Supreme Court. This election most likely did not go the way you expected it to go, and if you look at some of the candidates that were elected and some of the pro-abortion initiatives that passed, if you are like me you are wondering how so many people can have it so wrong! So, we vote and we encourage all we can to vote in light of the teaching of God’s Word, but at the end of the day our hope is in Christ alone! Amen?
We ended our service yesterday by singing…
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
Listen. This world is focused on abortion rights, rejecting God’s choice regarding gender by surgically changing it, unbridled sex, defying authority and accountability (i.e., defund the police), and easy access to your drug of choice. I am determined to focus on Thanksgiving (expressing gratitude to my God for His goodness in my life), Christmas (celebrating the fact that God loved me enough to send His Son to this wretched earth to save my soul), and that I have a family and a church family to celebrate these things with. I trust you will join me.
Love ya! Hope you have a great day as you keep an ear out for that angel to shout and that trumpet to sound!
In Him,
Pastor Bill
