Hi Folks!

We trust this finds you well and either avoiding or surviving this recent surge of Covid.  In trying to find a silver lining, we can at least say that this is one more thing that is going to make heaven so sweet.  Amen?  – No more sickness and no more tears, and no more bodies that feel bad for a multitude of reasons!

We wanted to communicate with you some important information regarding the next few weeks which will culminate with a called business meeting on Sunday, July 31, for the purpose of voting on Drew Elgersma becoming our Associate Senior Pastor.  By the way, if you are newer to FBCF or have forgotten how this transition will work, you may want to listen to the message on “Mystery Sunday.”  The link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5af0dAquXQY

In this week’s video of our worship service is a short video of Drew and his family.  We played it this past Sunday in church, but you may have missed seeing it.  We encourage you to take a minute to view.

Here is the schedule of events over the next few weeks, with a few changes added in (and underlined.)

Sunday, July 24, 9:00 a.m. (Sunday School hour) – Q./A. time with the ASPST.  All the Adult Classes will meet this Sunday as a combined S.S. in the Fellowship Hall.  We will have some doughnuts & bagels & coffee & juice.  This will be an opportunity for you to ask the Search Team and/or Pastor Bill about the process that has transpired in presenting Drew, what changes this will bring about, or anything else you would like to talk about as it pertains to this succession plan.

Sunday, July 24, 10:15 (regular worship service) – Drew will preach.

Sunday, July 24 – Drew & his family will have supper with the church staff.

Monday, July 25 – Drew & his family will have supper with the Deacons.

Tuesday, July 26 – lunch – if you would like an opportunity to get to know Drew & his family on a more personal level, you can take them to lunch.  Just contact Tammie at the church office to coordinate.  First come first serve.  You can set this up for just you and/or your family, or you can go in together as a group.

Wednesday, July 27, 6:30 (Wednesday night service) – Drew will share for a bit before a Q./A. time with him.

Thursday, July 28 – lunch – if you would like an opportunity to get to know Drew & his family on a more personal level, you can take them to lunch.  Just contact Tammie at the church office to coordinate.  First come first serve.  You can set this up for just you and/or your family, or you can go in together as a group.

Sunday, July 31, 10:15 (regular worship service) – Drew will preach.  There will be a called business meeting after the service for the purpose of voting on Drew becoming our Associate Senior Pastor.

These are important and exciting days!  On top of all of this, we have our annual Missions Conference coming up from August 7-14.  Please be in prayer for that as well!
